As Principal of Clemens Crossing Elementary, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to be a member of this great school and community. Clemens Crossing continues to enjoy a rich history of academic excellence that is the result of a wonderful partnership between the school staff and parents who provide a diversity of experiences for our children. Education is both a process and a partnership. It is important that both staff and parents work collaboratively to support and monitor our students both academically, behaviorally and socially. Together, we can provide the modeling, consistency and structure our students need to achieve academic success and develop positive citizenship traits. Additionally, our students and staff are supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated PTA! Our PTA offers many programs and supports to our school community; I sincerely hope that you will become a PTA member as well as volunteer and participate in our many events! My professional career began in Howard County 20 years ago as a teacher at Hollifield Station Elementary. I served as an assistant principal at Hollifield Station and Bellows Spring Elementary Schools and principal at Bushy Park Elementary School. I have enjoyed serving those communities in the variety of roles, and I know those experiences will help me as I serve the Clemens Crossing community. My goal as your principal is to cultivate a learning community where all students will grow in knowledge, teachers will actively engage students in learning, and parents are seen as valued partners in their child's education. As we embark on another school year at Clemens Crossing, I look forward to continuing to get to know our families, watching our students learn and grow, as well as working together with you to make this a great school year! I am excited about Clemens Crossing's future and look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Your connection to our school is imperative for our success. If you have any comments, questions or concerns, please know I am here to have that dialogue with you. Again, I am privileged and honored to be your elementary school Principal.

I am very excited to once again be a part of the this welcoming and wonderful Clemens Crossing Community. As I walk the building every day it is clear that the staff and students value learning and education. Here's a little bit about me! I have lived in Howard County my entire life. I graduated from Oakland Mill High School and came back to Columbia after college. I have been in the Howard County Public School System for 22 years. I started my career as a teacher at Centennial Lane Elementary and then Fulton Elementary, teacher first and second grade. I received my Master Degree in Reading and became a reading specialist and later a reading support teacher at Guilford Elementary and Stevens Forest Elementary. I then spent 7 years as the Reading Specialist at Rockburn Elementary. Finally, after earning my Administration and Supervision degree I became an Assistant Principal at Bryant Woods. Now I am here and couldn't be more thrilled. I have been so fortunate to have had so many wonderful opportunities in Howard County. When I am not in school, I stay very active with my family of boys! My husband Brian and I have two sons; Nick and Zach who are in middle school. We also have a cute and friendly dog, Charlie. My boys play basketball, soccer, and swim on the swim team. I enjoy running, I have run 24 marathons, and have done several triathlons! We also spend a lot of time at the beach, relaxing, riding bikes, and reading. I am excited and thrilled to once again have the chance to work here at Clemens Crossing. Our staff is truly in engaged in teaching and our students are engaged in learning. Our PTA could not be more supportive. What a wonderful place to work! If you ever have any questions, concerns, or just want to stop by my door is always open. I am looking forward to another wonderful year at CCES! You can't have suCCESs without CCES! Go Cougars!
